Director of Utilization Review
Terri Hugh is the Director of Utilization Review at Oasis Behavioral Health. Terri holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Maryland while living overseas, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from Arizona State University. Terri has worked in the behavioral health field in Arizona, Texas, Virginia, and Florida for almost 30 years, serving in various capacities to include case management, social work, discharge planning, assessments, and intake, plus individual and group therapy. She served as director of a day treatment program while in Florida that was funded under a Ryan White grant for those patients who were dually diagnosed, as well as having HIV. She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and enjoys the fast pace of the inpatient setting. She is motivated to work closely with the social work team to best advocate for the needs of the patient based on physician’s recommendations. Terri and her UM team also coordinate closely with the business office team in order to reduce overall denials, and reflect the most accurate benefits for each patient, ensuring authorization and payment for services. The UM team collaborates with the treatment team to ensure best practices, efficient use of patient’s benefits, and are actively involved with the discharge planning and oversight of every single OBH patient.
